Vanaderen
Vanadium-diffusion, 3800 HV high wear resistance

Increases resistance to wear and tear by vanadium diffusion treatment

Vanadizing  is applied in the aluminium and brass processing industry, where it is used for machining equipment, press arbours and moulds etc. This treatment also works very well for parts used in textile processing machines in particular. Vanadizing results in an exceptionally high surface hardness and is therefore very suitable for abrasive applications. All unalloyed and low-alloyed ferrous metals with a maximum of 12% Cr can be treated in this fashion. The carbon content should preferably be >0.3%. Some examples of parts treated in this way include machining tools, stamping nipples and moulds.

Characteristics of the vanadizing treatment:

  • Diffusion depth: 3-10 µm
  • Temperature resistance of up to ± 750°C
  • Surface hardness: ± 3000 Micro Vickers
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Excellent anti-adhesive properties
  • Longer tool life
  • Increased heat conductance of the material
  • High elasticity
  • Can be easily polished
  • Standard maximum dimensions: 1000x350x350mm, other dimensions on special order
